It is almost Friday and Football is back! When Friday night comes around that means it is time for high-school varsity football.
This week’s game will be the third game of our teams season. This will also be our second home game of the year. We will be playing arguably one of the best teams in our conference in this upcoming game. Our opponents won the state championship last season and most of their players from their championship year are now seniors. Without a doubt, this is going to be one of the toughest teams we will face this season. The odds are against us, but if our guys play smart we can put up a pretty good fight.
Our team is starting off the season strong coming into their next game with a 2-0 record. If our guys can hold their own against some of the better teams we play we are looking at having a pretty solid season for the second year in a row. Last year we had one of the best seasons we have ever witnessed from our team. We made the playoffs for the first time since 1985. In order to clinch a spot in the playoffs you must win 6 games. We have a solid team this year who has been playing better than expected, so we may be able to earn a playoff spot for the second year in a row. I predict that our team will have a winning record this year and we will have a late run to make the playoffs. Friday night’s game will show a lot about how the rest of the season will go based on how they hold up against this team.
